First Look at the Serrato Itch Vestax VCI-300
Serato and Vestax just released digital mixing unit that, unlike Scratch Live, eliminates the turntables, mixer, needles and vinyl. Check out the video of me inspecting the interface for the first time.

Pros:
The software runs seamless with Serato. After installation, all your crates automatically appear.
Very cost effective for someone who has no vinyl collection and plans to only play mp3 music.
It's the ultimate mobile dj tool. No more lugging around turtables, mixer, control records, needles and power cords.
Cons:
Switching between two dj's with the VCI-300 is impossible. You would have to transition like the Australians do. Stop the party till the other dj plugs in.
The delay from the platter control takes a long time to get used to. It is nearly impossible to perform any intricate scratching. It responds like a CDJ more than vinyl.
My thoughts:
Because of the latency, I wouldn't trade off brining turntables and a mixer to a gig. Dj J Guzz put it best. "It's a glorified version [of Scratch Live's] internal mode."
